Fertilization & Turf Health
Thin turf lets weeds in. Overseeding fills the gaps with new grass that crowds weeds out.

Tall fescue is a bunch-type grass that does not spread, so it thins over time and needs fresh seed every year or two. Overseeding adds new seed to an existing lawn. Slit seeding cuts shallow grooves and drops seed into them for strong seed-to-soil contact, which improves germination. Fall is the best season, when soils are warm and nights are cool.
We overseed and slit seed across Middle Tennessee, from yards in Nashville to larger properties. We choose a seed blend for your sun and shade, prepare the soil with aeration or slit seeding, add a starter fertilizer, plan the pre-emergent timing around the seed and give you clear watering instructions.
