Fertilization & Turf Health
Compost on top of a lawn feeds the soil, levels small dips and helps clay breathe. It is soil care you can see.

Topdressing is spreading a thin layer of screened compost or topsoil over the lawn. It adds organic matter, feeds soil life, helps level small low spots and improves seed germination when done with overseeding. On clay soils the benefits build with repeated applications. The layer must be thin enough that grass pokes through it, or the turf can smother.
We topdress lawns across Middle Tennessee, in Nashville yards and on larger properties. We use screened compost, spread it evenly with the right equipment, rake or drag it into the turf and pair it with aeration and seed when the plan calls for it.
