When the grass actually grows.

Mowing & Maintenance
Warm-season grasses love the heat and sleep in winter. They have different rules from fescue, and we know them.

Zoysia and bermuda thrive in Tennessee summer heat and go dormant and tan after the first hard frosts. They spread by runners, handle foot traffic and drought well and want to be mowed lower than fescue. They are fed in late spring and summer, and winter weeds take advantage of their dormancy, so a fall pre-emergent matters.
We care for zoysia and bermuda lawns across Middle Tennessee, from yards in Nashville to larger properties. We plan feeding for the growing season, mow lower with sharp blades, dethatch when thatch builds, control winter weeds and watch for disease and insects that favor warm-season turf.
