Weed Control
The easiest weed to control is the one that never comes up. A pre-emergent barrier stops weed seeds from sprouting.

A pre-emergent is a barrier in the top inch of soil that stops germinating weed seeds from establishing. Timing is everything: too early and it wears off, too late and the weeds are already up. In Middle Tennessee the spring barrier usually goes down as soil warms in March and early April, and the fall barrier goes down in September for henbit, chickweed and poa annua.
We apply pre-emergent barriers across Middle Tennessee, from yards in Nashville to fields in the counties around. We time applications by soil temperature and weather rather than a calendar date, water the product in properly and avoid disturbing the barrier with aeration or overseeding in the same window unless the plan calls for it.
