Weed Control
Green weeds in a dormant lawn are winter weeds. A fall barrier keeps them out and a spring treatment cleans up the rest.

Winter weeds sprout in fall and grow through the cool months: henbit and its purple flowers, chickweed, annual bluegrass (poa annua), hairy bittercress and more. They are most obvious in warm-season lawns that turn brown for winter, but they also invade thin fescue. A fall pre-emergent stops most of them, and a targeted spring treatment cleans up the rest before they set seed.
We control winter weeds across Middle Tennessee, in Nashville lawns and the surrounding counties. We apply fall barriers in September, treat existing weeds on mild winter days when they take products well and plan overseeding and aeration around the barrier.
